Peru will be hosting World Travel Awards ceremony on the 20th of July this year, in its capital city of Lima. This is the first time in the history of the awards that a South American nation is a host of the prestigious event.
The red carpet gala event will be taking place at Huaca Pucllana temple site, located in the district of Miraflores.
It was back in 1993, when World Travel Awards first started to acknowledge, recognize and reward the excellence in the tourism, travel and hospitality industry worldwide.
In its 20th year, World Travel Awards is regarded as the highest award a travel product could ask for in this industry and the ceremonies are considered to be one-of-a-kind networking events for hospitality and tourism operators globally.
Lima will be showcased by WTA as both a tourist and a business centre, witnessed by the links formed between the present and the past.
The urbanization process with the help of the residents and the archaeologists resulted in the dozens of archaeological sites and ancient temples being preserved and left untouched in the midst of the bustling metropolis.
