Two new East Tennessee mobile travel apps have been launched this week as part of the National Travel and Tourism Week. The launch reflects the need for new regional travel apps that are emerging in the world of tourism.
The first travel app is from the Blount Partnership which has revealed the “Peaceful Side of the Smokies” app for tourism in the region. This travel app has a complete list of the Blount County’s lodging and dining information together with sightseeing and outdoor activities that take place around the region. It further has a GPS-enabled map and a calendar of events. The app has filtered waypoints according to the categories.
The new mobile travel app helps users in connecting with the locale through social media platforms and enables engagement between those using the app and the local tourism authority.
The app can be used on Android phones, iPhone and iPad. Travelers wishing to know more about the app can visit www.smokymountains.org.
Next is the Southeast Tennessee Cultural Heritage Driving Trails app for mobile launched by the Southeast Tennessee Tourism Association. It includes the association’s seven driving trails which are theme-based: Native American Trail, Civil War Trail, Fun on the Farm, Outdoor Recreation Guide, Music Trail, Arts Trail, and Religious Heritage Trail.
The app, available in Google Play and Apple iTunes app stores, is produced by BarZ Adventures. Travel enthusiasts can visit the site www.southeasttennessee.com for further information about this mobile travel app.
