Turkey stands at sixth position in the world in terms of number of tourists, hosting 30 million tourists in 2012. According to Fair officials, EMITT 2012 stood as the world’s fifth largest tourism fair with a total of 128,000 visitors and 4,500 participants. However, the expectations are even higher this year.

Turkey will promote its cities favorable for trekking, mountaineering, botanical tourism, religious tourism, plateau tourism, winter tourism and bird watching as tourism places, reported hurriyetdailynews.com.

This year, Portugal is going to attend the fair for the first time while Libya is also going to participate after its civil war. Argentina is going to attend the fair as a guest country from outside the Mediterranean region and offers free dance lessons to the visitors.
