Hawaiian Airlines to Take Off Into Auckland

In a bid to expanding its international network, the Hawaiian Airlines as its latest addition has launched non-stop service to Auckland.

President and CEO of Hawaiian Mark Dunkerley said that they are delighted by the interest in new service at home and in New Zealand. The deep culture connections make New Zealand a natural destination for Hawaiian and for a brand of authentic Hawaiian hospitality.

The arrival of HA445 takes place followed by gate side festivities including hula and Hawaiian music, a traditional Hawaiian blessing and honoring the Maori Culture.

Seven crew members of the sailing canoe Hokule`a are among the VIP guests. The group is led by Polynesian and Hokule`a Voyaging Society Captain Nainoa Thompson.

Hawaiian Airlines, with this inaugural, is the only US carrier flying into Auckland. Hawaiian’s market research shows that non-stop service will be releasing pent-up demand in for Hawaii vacation New Zealand. Presently there are 30% less arrivals from New Zealand compared to that in 1999 when the two destinations were served more by non-stop flights.

The Hawaiian Airlines inter-island and trans-pacific route networks allow convenient connections throughout Hawaii and into 11 U.S. gateway destinations.

The Auckland Sky Tower – the iconic tourist landmark, will be lit in Hawaiian Airlines colors for three nights celebrating the start of Hawaiian Airlines Auckland Service.

Hawaiian Airlines will be operating three flights a week between Auckland and Honolulu with 294-seat A330-200 aircraft.

Hawaiian Airlines HA445 Flight departs Honolulu International Airport on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:45pm, crosses the International dateline and Auckland Airport at 9:55 pm. Flight HA 446 departs from Auckland every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 11:55pm, crosses the international dateline and arrives Honolulu at 9:45am the same day.

The Hawaiian’s new A330 aircraft provides high resolution LCD touch screen monitors in each seatback, allowing customers to choose from a wide range of movies, music, TV programs and video games along with USB port to use their own personal media players. Business Class customers can enjoy iPod compatibility.

Hawaiian provides with complimentary drinks, meals, blankets and selected in-seat video entertainment for its passengers between New Zealand and Hawaii on its A330 aircraft.
